Abstract

Background: LA contractility controls LV filling and has a significant value in maintaining cardiac output  even if the patient suffers from impaired relaxation or reduced compliance of LV . In case of impaired LV relaxation, the reservoir and pump phases take the upper hand in diastolic LV filling while reservoir phase decrease. LAS is the newest technique for direct evaluation of LA function and non-invasive assessment of LV diastolic function in pediatrics . Different echo views for imaging acquisition and different software
packages and modalities of postprocessing analysis are now available
